Unable to reconnect to American Express (UK)

Hello, unable to reconnect to American Express (UK). Talked to an agent and we tried all sorts of different browsers, incognito, VPN on or off. But unable to fix the problem.

Please find a screenshot of the error message attached. 

The agent said she'd talk to the back-end engineers and send me an email. No email received as yet.

Since you've tried the recommended troubleshooting solutions, there's a possibility that the American Express website is having system maintenance.

 

You can contact your bank to verify this. Or log into their website to review any alerts that need your attention. Once signed in, perform the following steps:

 

  1. Review your account page for messages, notifications, or alerts.
  2. Check your bank’s website for any announcements.
  3. Once done, go back to your QuickBooks account to re-connect your account.
  4. Perform a manual update by clicking the Gear icon, then click on Bank accounts.
  5. Tap on Refresh all.

 

In case you're getting the same results, I recommend getting back in touch with our Support Team for further assistance. A live agent can check again your account securely and investigate the root cause of this error.

 

On the other hand, you can also export the transactions from your bank, then upload them to QBSE manually. Once the transactions are added to QuickBooks, here's how you can categorise them.

Many thanks for your reply Mary.

 

I received an email from your support person and have replied with screenshots of the error messages for the backend team.

 

I've also spoken with American Express and they said my account was in order and they couldn't see any reason why the connection shouldn't work from their end. They gave me a number to call: +1888-311-7276, this turned out to be Quicken in the USA, so not sure how relevant that would be? I couldn't get through to them.

 

I've tried using the iPhone QBs app with 4g only to connect. Also, another computer that is hard-wired into the router. As well as plenty of different browsers and private modes, with the VPN on or off. No luck so far, I'm afraid.

 

Will update if anything changes.
