why do I have to reconfirm VAT on routine transactions every month? Can't the system remember whether bank charges carry VAT or not?

why do I have to reconfirm VAT on routine transactions every month? 

Can't the system remember whether bank charges carry VAT or not without me having to reconfirm it every month?

is there a hidden feature I am missing to set this up?

    Hi jon007,

     

    Welcome to the Community.

     

    Can I please confirm whether you have been using the browser or through the app?

     

    If you are using the browser the Banking section will normally start to recognise certain transactions when they have been added. Normally for VAT when you first use a code to transaction it will ask to use this for the account type selected. One reason this may not be saving is depending on caching with your browser.
