Why is ISO 8601 YYYY-MM-DD not supported for bank import?

For some crazy reason there's no option for the ISO 8601 standardized date format of YYYY-MM-DD for bank imports.

 

How can there be such a glaring oversight? It wouldn't take a few minutes to code in the additional format, yet QB seems determined to ignore standards and force customers to jump through ridiculous hoops to import data.

This is a great idea for a new software feature, @Steven_ZA.

 

I can see how it would be beneficial to you to have the ability to import your bank transactions using the ISO 8601 standardized date format. Currently, the available date format for importing is limited to the following: 

 
 

On the other hand, you can set the date preference in your QuickBooks account to  the ISO 8601 standardized date format of YYYY-MM-DD. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Account and Settings.
  3. Select the Advanced menu.
  4. Scroll down to the Other Preferences section.
  5. Choose your desired date format from the drop-down. 
  6. Click the Save button.

Lastly, I understand that you want to make some changes and improvements to QuickBooks Online to meet your business needs.
