Question

A bank transaction that was posted last year has been changed in this year.

Today I found a bank transaction of last year was changed, the figure was changed.

But our bank accounts were linked to our bank, so the numbers of bank account are not entered manually. And the attachment shows origin figure. I am the only person who can use QBO. 

 

How can I find the cause of the error?

Please know that the downloaded data in QuickBooks Online depends on the information shared by the financial institution. With this, let me route you to the right support team to assist you further with your bank data issue. 

 

Beforehand, may I ask which bank you're using I appreciate any further information so I can provide accurate details.

 

For now, I recommend contacting your financial institution since the numbers or data are not manually entered into the program. They can verify why you are receiving an error and the cause of this, as well as provide information on what steps you have to take to fix the bank's date issue that was changed.

 

Additionally, you can also visit the Audit log page. This is done so you'll see the list of the company's movements, the adjustments or changes made, and who made them.

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon ⚙ and select Audit Log.
  2. Choose Filter.
  3. Use the fields on the Filter panel to choose the appropriate User, Date, or Events filter to narrow the results.
  4. Click Apply.

 

Then, the audit log shows 150 records at a time. For most transactions or events, click View in the History column to open the audit history. This tells you who made the change and what they did.

Thank you for your reply!

 

Our bank is Bank of America.

 

This transaction is recorded in 2022. And I confirm that the account amounts related to it on our books at the beginning of this year are correct.

 

Today I suddenly found that QBO's data is inconsistent with BoA's data. So I found it.

Thanks for the quick response and for performing the steps recommended by my colleague, @Frank90. Let me chime-in on this conversation and give updates.

 

Currently, our product engineers are investigating Bank of America (BoA) and QuickBooks Online (QBO) connectivity issue (INV-96341) wherein QBO can't pull up all transactions causing discrepancies in account balance. Rest assured, our product engineers are working to resolve this. 

 

It would be best to be notified firsthand when the problem is resolved. Thus, I encourage contacting our support team to add you to the list of affected users. Here's how:

 

  1. Go to Help (?) in your QuickBooks Online company.

  2. Select either of these tabs:

  • Assistant tab and type Talk to a human.
  • Search tab and click on Contact us to connect with a support expert.

  3. Choose how you want to reach us (phone or chat).
