A downloaded bank transaction wont match item posted. Amount, date, check number are all correct but still wont match. Why?

Matching downloaded transactions is one of the key features when using online banking, jtalkington. Please allow me to join you here and offer my assistance.

 

I'd like to start by asking what happens when you try to match the transactions. Is there an error message? This is for us to check if there's an existing alert that's related to your concern.

 

Aside from the date and amount, it's equally important that both transactions are within the same bank account in order to successfully match them.

 

You can review the existing and downloaded transactions to make sure they're posted in the correct bank.

 

Browser problems or other technical glitches can also cause unexpected results when attempting to match transactions in QuickBooks Online.

 

In this case, follow these steps on how to resolve common browser issues when working in QuickBooks:

 

  1. Use a private/incognito browsing session or restart your browser.
  2. Add Intuit as a trusted site.

 

After that, go back to the Transactions tab and match the transactions again.
