A previous bookkeeper linked the bank account with QB Online but used an old account in QuickBooks. How do I unlink from the wrong account and relink the correct account?

I'll lay down a guide to help you change the bank account in QuickBooks Online (QBO) in the simplest way possible, @Deborah8050.

First, we need to disconnect the incorrect bank account and connect the correct one. I'll show you how to disconnect the incorrect bank account:

  1. Go to Transactions in the main menu and select Bank Transactions.
  2.  Look for the tile of the wrong bank account.
  3. Click the pencil icon and select Edit account info.
  4. Check the Disconnect this account on the save checkbox and select Save and Close.

Once you've completed the above steps, you can connect the correct bank account to your QBO.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Go to Transactions in the main menu and select Bank Transactions.
  2. Select Link Account.
  3. Enter the URL or name of your bank in the Search field, then select the bank.
  4. Enter your Sign info in the Login and Password fields, then select Continue
  5. Select the account you want to connect and date to pull transactions from the dropdown menu, then select Next.
  6. Choose your account type on the Account type dropdown, then select Next.

After that, QuickBooks will automatically download the latest transactions depending on your bank. Some banks let you download the last 90 days of transactions, while others can go back up to 24 months.

In case you're unable to find your bank while connecting, you can manually upload the transactions into QBO.
