A wire is showing as a transfer how can I change that.

In QuickBooks, wire or credit card payments are downloaded as a Transfer, @cyndic. 

If you're trying to change it to a deposit, you'll have to exclude the transfer from the Banking page. Then, recreate it as a deposit. 

Here's how: 

1. Select Banking or Transactions from the menu.
2. Go to the Banking tab, then choose the appropriate bank account.
3. In the For Review tab, select the checkbox of the transfer you want to exclude. Then, click Exclude.

If the transfer has already been categorized, go to the Categorized tab instead. Click the Undo option from the Action column, follow the steps above to exclude the item. 

Once done, follow the steps to create a bank deposit.

To keep your books accurate in the future, make sure you select accounts for deposits and fees.
