Question

Adding a tag to a new transaction does not work. All old tags are doing fine but the program will not add new ones to new transactions. Is this happening to anyone else?

Good day to you, Rowej.

Allow me to share with you some details on how to get around this issue so you can add tags to your transactions.

To begin with, let’s access your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) account on a private window (incognito) to check if this is a browser cache issue.

There are times that the browser is full of frequent access pages that can hinder the performance of your account. Using an incognito is the best tool to verify this issue as this doesn’t store any cache file.

To start, you can use these keyboard shortcuts:

  • Press keys: Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome browser)
  • Press keys: Ctrl + Shift + P (Mozilla Firefox & Microsoft Edge browser)
  • Press keys: Command + Shift + N (Safari browser)

If you’re able to add tags to your new transactions, I recommend logging back into your regular browser and clear its cache. If the issue persists, try using other supported browsers to check if this a browser-integrated issue.

If this is not the case, I recommend contacting our Support team. This way, they’ll add you to the list of affected users and be updated via email once the issue is solved (INV-57042). Rest assured our engineering team is working 24/7 to resolve this.

Once everything is all in place, you might want to check this link for future reference in categorizing your transactions.

We appreciate your patience while we’re working to fix this. In case you have other concerns or questions managing your transactions or with your account, you can always get back to me. It’s always my pleasure to help you. Keep safe!
