Question

All my bank accounts were connected to Quickbooks, not just my business account. How do I get my bank accounts off Quickbooks?

Thank you for joining the Community forum, sgill1310.

Allow me to share some info and assist you in disconnecting your accounts connected to online banking in QuickBooks Online.

Once you disconnect, QuickBooks clears the transactions in the For review tab that still need to be categorized. You won't be able to download the transactions into QuickBooks again if they are more than 90 days old.

Also, before you disconnect an account, you must fix any banking errors that may have occurred. When you reconnect after disconnecting with errors, it may download duplicate transactions.

To disconnect an account from online banking:

  1. Go to Bookkeeping, choose Transactions, then Banking.
  2. Select the tile for the bank account.
  3. Click the pencil ✎ icon, then hit Edit account info.
  4. Tap the Disconnect this account on save checkbox. If QuickBooks is downloading new transactions, you won't see this option. Wait a few minutes for the update to finish and try again.
  5. Press Save and Close.

I'm adding this article if you want to reconnect the account to download transactions again: Connect bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online.

If you no longer want to reconnect the account, you can also manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.
