All my transactions are suddenly Unreviewed! How do I get the categorizations back without doing it one at a time?

I logged into QB Self Employed and over 300 transactions need to be reviewed! This happened once before and I thought it was my fault.

I want you to have a smoother experience using the system, @swgrimmertax.

I can see that this already happened a long time ago. The bank may have been deleted accidentally, causing this to remove the 300 entries inside it. When reconnecting the bank account, it will let you categorize the transactions back.

In this case, you can create a bank rule to categorize transactions quickly. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under Transactions, select Rules.
  3. Select the Create rule button.
  4. Enter the information needed for the rule you wanted to create.
  5. On the Account menu, choose the bank account that you wanted to apply the rule.
  6. Click Save.

In addition, here's an article you can read to learn more about how you can create a rule: Create rules to speed up reviews in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Lastly, I've got you this short guide for ideas about how you can review your transactions: Categorize and edit transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Keep me posted in the comments down below if you have any other questions. I'll be happy to lend a hand.
