Question

As of today (March 1, 2021) my QBO is no longer showing the QB balances only the bank balances. Anyone know what's going on? Did QB change the format recently?

I'm here to help you see your QuickBooks balance, @pdamian.

The QuickBooks Balance is affected by the transactions you categorized and manually add in QuickBooks. On the other hand, Bank Balance depends on the update on your financial bank institution. To isolate the issue, let's perform some troubleshooting steps. To start, open your QBO account in a private mode to have a clean slate. The following are the shortcut keys you can use:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

Then, sign in as the administrator on your account. Once done, check if you now see your QuickBooks balance. You can check it through the Dashboard menu and then Business Overview. If this works, clear your regular browser cache. This is to remove the damaged and corrupted files.

If the same thing happens, let's also check if you're in a Business View. Then switch it back to Accountant View to see the QuickBooks balance. Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. At the bottom right of the page, select Switch to Accountant View
  3. Once done, go to the Transactions menu and then Banking

Also, QuickBooks makes it easy to add your transactions manually, made possible by using CSV files. If you want to learn more and do the process, check out this article: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

Let me know how this goes and leave a reply below if you need further assistance in viewing your QuickBooks balance. I'm always around to help. Have a good one.
