Eastern Bank had a portal change and now the account number on the QBO files has additional 'zeros' at the beginning.  IE: Used to be '601######' and now is '00601######'.

How do I change the current account number to add the "00" in order to have proper continuation.

Editing the account number is essential to keep your record accurate, EE towing. Let's work together to achieve this.

To successfully update your bank account information and add the "00", let's disconnect your current connection first (you don't have to disconnect all accounts, only the Eastern Bank). Beforehand, ensure all your transactions are categorized.

Then, follow these steps to disconnect the bank account:

  1. Go to Lists and then select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Right-click the account you want to turn off. Then, choose Edit Account.
  3. Go to Bank Settings and then select Deactivate all online services.
  4. Click OK and then hit Save & Close.

After that, we can start editing the account number:

  1. Go to the Lists menu and then choose Chart of Accounts.
  2. Select the account for which you'll want to change the account number.
  3. Tick the Account drop-down at the bottom of the list.
  4. Select Edit Account.
  5. Change the number in the Account No. field.
  6. Hit Save & Close.

Once done, I recommend reconnecting the account.
