I just recently purchased a business and inherited an old version of quick books.  I need it for the client information and inventory/ client billing.  I would also like to use it for reconciling my bank account/ basic accounting.  The previous owner’s information including bank deposits/ withdrawals etc.  How do I start the banking from square one?? I need to delete all of her banking info and begin with mine but I don’t want to delete anything else.  Thanks!!

I offer you a warm welcome in the Community, @LWheeler1. Thank you for choosing QuickBooks and I’ll walk you through deleting your banking information and its transactions.

Before deactivating an account, you’ll need to make sure there are no pending transactions. You can either add them first or delete all of them. To proceed with removing them, you can mark it all and hit ignore. You can also switch to Register Mode and delete it from there. You can do that by selecting the downloaded file and delete it.

Please know that deactivating an account won’t download new transactions. When the lightning bolt disappears beside the account this indicates it's already deactivated.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Lists menu and then select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Right-click the account you want to turn off. Then select Edit Account.
  3. Go to Bank Settings.
  4. Select Deactivate all online services and then OK.
  5. Click Save & Close.

Once done, see this article to link your bank account into the program: Set up bank accounts for Bank Feeds in QuickBooks Desktop. This contains the step-by-step guide of connecting your account to bank feeds in two ways (Direct Connect and Web Connect).

Once reconnected, your new transactions will be downloaded. With this, you'll have to add and match them to keep your account accurate and updated. For the detailed steps, you can check out this article: Bank Feed transactions. It includes instructions about reviewing transactions based on the banking mode you're using.

I'll lend a hand again if you have more questions. I'll also take a moment to listen if you have other concerns regarding your data in QuickBooks Online.
