Bank reconciliation

I'm a new online user, previously on Desktop where we manually reconciled bank transactions on QB vs the Bank Statements, concentrating on payments out of the account so we didn't miss any expenses. On desktop we could mark the transactions with a tick and save, I cant see how to do this in online, is it possible?

I can see the linking of the bank account but I don't want that, I want to do it manually.

Hello there, RAY15.

I'll guide you on how to manually reconcile each bank transaction in QuickBooks Online.

Yes, in QuickBooks Online, you can manually change each bank transaction in your check register to be reconciled.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Bookkeeping or Accounting, then Chart of accounts.
  2. Look for the account where you added the transaction. Then click on View register.
  3. Find the transaction and click to expand the view. If the transaction has been reconciled, an "R" will appear in the ✔ checkmark or reconciliation status column.
  4. In that column, hit the blank box twice or until it shows “R”.
  5. Select Save.
  6. Then, close the account register.

While this process is possible in QuickBooks Online, we recommend reading this article for a more comprehensive understanding of reconciling an account and ensuring accurate bookkeeping: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.
