Question

Bank reconciliations have not been completed for over a year. Is there a way to reconcile starting with last month's bank statement?

Yes, kdigiuseppi. There's a way to reconcile your account in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

When reconciling your account, ensure you have your monthly bank or credit card statement to enter the Amount and Ending Balance in the Reconciliation tab. If you're reconciling multiple months, reconcile your account one statement at a time.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Transactions menu, then choose Reconcile.
  2. Review if you have the correct opening balance.
  3. From the Account dropdown, select the name of your account.
  4. Enter the Ending Balance and Ending Date.
  5. Fill out other fields if necessary.
  6. Click Start Reconciling.

I'll leave this article for you to utilize as you reconcile your account: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.
