Bank Recs missing info

Our bank accounts are not connected to QB and this has never been a problem.  I'm trying to do a manual rec, and there are no check numbers showing.  Also, some of the transactions are wires or ACH payments.  Everything under "Type" says check.

How can I fix this?

Hi there, @prattos.

I'm here to help fix the issue you're having when performing reconciliation in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

It's possible that the Print later option was checked on the transactions with no check numbers when they were created. Here's how to rectify this:

  1. Click the Check in question.
  2. Select the Edit option to open the transaction.
  3. Remove the checkmark on the Print later box.
  4. Enter the specific check number on the box.
  5. Hit Save and close.
  6. Do the same steps for the other checks.

For the ACH transactions that are showing as Check in the Type column, it's possible that they were created as check. If that's the case, you can delete the incorrect transactions and recreate them.

If they're payments from your customer(s), you can modify your customers' profiles and add an ACH payment type form there. This way, you can select it when recording their payment. Let me show you how:

  1. Go to the Sales menu at the left pane.
  2. Select the Customers tab.
  3. Locate and select the customer you want to edit.
  4. From their profile, select Edit.
  5. In the Customer information window, go to the Payment and billing tab.
  6. Type in and enter ACH in the Preferred payment method field.
  7. Enter the needed information and click Save, then select Save again to save the changes.

Once done, proceed with recording the payments. Refer to this article for further guidance: Record invoice payments in QuickBooks Online.

After that, you can now continue the reconciliation process. Check out this article for more information: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.
