Bank Register

I use to be able to enter transactions directly into my bank register.  Each time I try to enter or edit a transaction directly in the register, my Mac locks up with the spinning color wheel. 
I am only able to enter or edit through checks, deposit or the Edit toolbar. 
Do you have a resolution for this issue?

Thanks for sharing details about your concern. I've got some information and steps to share to get through this so you can proceed to enter transactions in the bank register.

 

If the issue happens to a company file, you can run the Verify and Rebuild tool to help fix it. 

 

To verify your data, here's how:

 

  1. Go to the File menu, and then select Utilities.
  2. Click Verify Data, then tap OK to close all windows. If you see “Your data has failed the integrity check”,  you'll need to rebuild your file. If there are no problems with your data, you’re done.

 

If there are problems with your company file, you'll have to rebuild it through these steps:

 

  1. Go to Files, and then choose Utilities.
  2. Select Rebuild Data, and then pick OK.
  3. Click OK to make a backup to prevent data loss along the process.
  4. Hit OK to continue the rebuild process.

However, if it's happening after the process of rebuilding and verifying data, then you can uninstall and reinstall QuickBooks. Make sure to create a backup copy of your company file.
