Question

Bank transactions not loading for a few accounts

Good morning!

I am having an issue with bank transactions not coming through for a handful of accounts. Most work as expected but six (6 of 15) will not update and bring in current transactions. All accounts use the same credentials and are at the same bank. All are checking and were loading up until the 2nd and they all stopped.  I unlinked and relinked but now I am stuck with 6 accounts that will not feed transactions into QBO.

Looking for suggestions on a fix...

Thanks in advance!

I am also having this problem, though it is only for one bank account. The rest are fine. I also tried what you did and I'm seeing that it has the right balance according to the bank website but no transactions since 5/31. Someone help!?!?

Hi there, BradCFN and GoinGaming.

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community. Let's perform some steps to make sure you're able to see the updated entries in QuickBooks Online. Beforehand, may I ask which financial institution isn't updating the entries? This way, we can check with our engineers if there are any reported issues similar to your banks.

For now, I'd suggest signing in to your bank’s website to check if the issue is on their end. There are times when transactions are stuck in an infinite load if your financial institution encounters server issues or has ongoing maintenance.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Bookkeeping menu at the left panel and select Transactions, then Bank transactions.
  2. Choose Link account.
  3. Search for your bank and select it. Then, copy the URL listed for your bank.
  4. Sign in to your bank or credit card's website using the copied URL.

If you can sign in, it's a good sign that there isn't a major issue. Then, check the following:

  • Check your account for messages, notifications, or alerts.
  • Look for any display issues as you navigate the website. These can block QuickBooks from downloading new transactions.
  • Check your bank’s website for any announcements about new security requirements.

Once everything looks good, you have to visit QuickBooks again and manually update your transaction. This updates all your connected bank and credit card accounts. The number of transactions in each account tile will increase if QuickBooks downloads new transactions.

Lastly, you may refer to this article if you need help in categorizing your entries by matching or adding them to avoid double transactions: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

I've got your back if you have more questions about managing your banking transactions in QuickBooks Online. Take care and have a great day, GoinGaming and GoinGaming. Have a great day!

Hello there, Nicole.

Thanks for joining this conversation. I'm here to help ensure you can download your bank transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

May I know what financial institution (FI) you've connected to QBO? Did you get any error messages? Any additional information will help me provide the best resolution.

In the meantime, aside from what my colleague ChristieAnn mentioned above, let's manually upload your bank transactions as a workaround. To do this, you'll need to download them from your bank's website first. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your bank or credit card's website.
  2. Follow your bank's instructions for how to download CSV files of your transactions to your computer.
  3. Check the date range for the download. It should be at least one day before the date of your oldest transaction.
  4. Download your transactions. Save the file somewhere you can easily find it, like your computer's desktop.

After that, you can now proceed with uploading them to your QBO. You can refer to this article for the detailed steps on how to do it: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

Once everything is good, you'll need to review and categorize them. You can check out this article for the detailed steps on how to do it: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Moreover, I'm adding this article that tackles reconciliation to ensure your account is balanced and accurate: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

Please leave a comment below if you have more questions about this or anything else. I'm more than willing to assist. Stay safe.
