If I am posting a deposit but I confirm the transaction in banking, do I still have to post the deposit?

Allow me to share a few information so you'll know how deposit works in QuickBooks Online and I'm here to guide you on what to do,KE2021.

Once deposits are posted, you'll be able to find them in your Bank Register. If you've already connected your bank, there's no need to post the deposit. You'll want to match them with transactions you've already entered in QuickBooks. To do this, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Select the tile for the account you want to review.
  3. Select the For Review tab to start.
  4. Look for the downloaded transaction with the Match option in the Action column.
  5. Make sure to know the DateDescriptionPayee, and amount spent or received.
  6. Select the downloaded transaction to expand the view.
  7. Review the Matching records found in QuickBooks. This is the possible matching transaction you already entered in QuickBooks.
  8. Select the link next to each match to get more details.
  9. Make sure this is the correct match. In particular, review the Deposit toPayment method, and Bank account fields on forms for the existing transaction in QuickBooks.
  10. If this is the correct match, close the open transaction. Select Match.
