QB budget import works, but it posts March budget to January.  How to correct without re-keying all budget numbers?

Hello there, treasurer151.

I understand you've encountered an issue with the correct display of months when importing your budget into QuickBooks Online (QBO). Allow me to provide some guidance on resolving this matter.

Let's review your template to ensure the months align with your budgeting period; discrepancies in the format can cause misalignment. Then, manually adjust the budget in the program to accurately reflect monthly financial projections.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Budgeting.
  2. Find your budget on the list.
  3. In the Options column, select View/Edit.
  4. Edit each account one month at a time.
  5. To change the period from Monthly to Quarterly or Yearly, switch between Yearly/Quarterly/Monthly views.
  6. Hit Save.

After creating and importing a budget, refer to the following article on how to run a Budget vs. Actuals report to compare your budgeted amounts with actual expenses: Common custom reports.
