Question

Can I change banks? When I set up my account, I entered my banking information, but now I want to use a different bank account. Please advise. Thanks

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community, @bob-pritzkraft-c

If you're referring to change the bank account you use when signing up to QuickBooks Online (QBO). Here are the steps you can perform:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then Account and settings.
  2. Select Billing & Subscription.
  3. Click Edit on your payment method.
  4. Update your credit card info.
  5. Ensure the address in QuickBooks and the one on your credit card statement are matched.
  6. When done, click Save.

For your reference, check out this link: Manage billing, payment, and subscription info in QuickBooks Online.

If you're referring to change a bank account linked on your QBO Transactions/Banking page, you can disconnect it and change it with the correct one.

  1. Navigate to the Transactions tab and choose Banking.
  2. Look for the bank account and click the Pencil icon.
  3. Select Edit account info. and tick the box for Disconnect this account on save.
  4. Click Save and Close.
  5. Once done, connect the new bank account

Then, I've got you this helpful article to ensure your transactions are accurately matched and categorized in QBO: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.
