Hello there, woodfellas1.

I'll take that you're referring to your personal bank account. Yes, you can do that. I'm here to guide you through the steps. Though we're unable to delete it permanently, disconnecting and deleting the account will make it as inactive. Thus, QuickBooks Online will stop getting your transactions from your bank.

Before doing so, removing your account means deleting the transactions that still need to be categorized.

Here's how to disconnect:

  1. From the Banking tab, select Banking.
  2. Select the account that you want to remove.
  3. Click the pencil (edit) icon and then select Edit account info.
  4. Tick the Disconnect this account on save field.
  5. Click Save and Close.

From there, you can deactivate the account. Let me guide you with these steps:

From the Accounting tab, select Chart of accounts.

  1. Find the account you want to delete in the list.
  2. In the Action drop-down, select Make inactive.
  3. Select Yes to confirm.

Also, to ensure that the transactions of your other accounts match your bank and credit card statements, you can reconcile them. Here's an article as your guide: Reconcile accounts.
