Question

Can I split the bank deposits to reflect revenues from TWO DIFFERENT LOCATIONS? My bank posts deposits once a day from my Point of sale credit card charging system.

Looks like you cannot split a bank deposit with different locations inside the split.  Only can designate locations for the total deposit.  I do not want to do a journal entry!  This will happen a lot in our business.

Thank you for joining the QuickBooks Community, StephejoATL.

Let me give you an idea on how to put two different locations for split bank deposit in QuickBooks Online.

First, make sure we set up and add two locations in QuickBooks. Use this link as your guide: Set up and use location tracking

Once done, we manually create two bank deposits and assign a location for each deposit.

Like this:

  1. Click on +New.
  2. Under Other, choose Bank deposit.
  3. In the Add funds to this deposit section, enter the first deposit amount in the first line item.
  4. Select the location by choosing from the Location drop-down.
  5. Click Save and close.

Repeat these steps to create the second deposit with a different location.

After that, match them with your bank deposit in your bank feeds window. Here's how:

  1. Go to For Review tab in the banking page
  2. Select the bank deposit you want to split then tick the Find match option to match it with those deposits you entered earlier.
  3. If QuickBooks doesn't find the match, click on Find other matches, then select the two bank deposits.
  4. Once done, hit Save.
