Can't get my bank account reconciled only should be 119 checks and it says 238 payments

Let's make sure that you'll be able to fix your reconciliation, emmetsburgcollis.

 

Yes, it's possible that some of your transactions are showing as duplicates, that's why you're not able to reconcile them. This usually happens when you've entered and downloaded transactions twice. You'll want to check how you categorize them. For purchases, use an expense account. While for deposits, use income.  To review how you've categorized downloaded transactions, follow the steps below: 

  1. Go to the Banking menu or Transactions menu.
  2. Select the tile for the account you want to review.
  3. Select the Categorized tab to start your review.

 

Also, if you've already created transactions in QuickBooks, make sure to match them with the existing ones instead of adding them to prevent duplicates.
