Changing to New Bank Account at Same Bank

In QuickBooks Desktop, you can use Bank Feeds to connect your bank and credit card accounts to online banking, so you don't have to record them manually. When you need to change your account details, you'll need to disconnect Bank Feeds.

Here's how to do it:

1. Go to Lists on the top menu.
2. Press Chart of Accounts.
3. Locate the account and right-click on it. Then, click Edit Account.
4. Head to the Bank Feed Settings tab.
5. Select Deactivate all online services, then click OK.
6. Hit Save & Close.

If your bank has transferred the balance from the old account to the new one, you can update the bank account number of the existing account in QuickBooks. You don't necessarily have to create a new bank account in QuickBooks. In this case, the transferred balance will be considered as the opening balance for the updated account.
