Checking Account Charges - Importing Issues

I am having the pending charges get imported as well daily for one of our accounts. How do I delete charges that are not needed and/or is there a way for the import to show they are pending & not a posted charge? That way, I wouldn't have to also log into my bank account as well as QB to know they haven't posted yet?

Thanks!

All transactions downloaded from your bank and imported into QuickBooks Online (QBO) are already posted to your account, lisa. If any are unnecessary, you'll need to log in to QuickBooks and exclude them from the Bank transactions menu. I'll guide you through the process below.

You can prevent a downloaded transaction from being added to your account in QuickBooks by excluding it to keep your books in order. To do this, here's how:

  1. Go to Transactions, then select Bank transactions.
  2. Select the For Review tab.
  3. Click the checkbox of the transactions to exclude.
  4. Select Exclude.
  5. The transactions moves to the Excluded tab of the Banking page.

For more information on excluding downloaded bank transactions, please see this article: Exclude a bank transaction you downloaded into QuickBooks Online.

Moreover, it's necessary to log into both your bank and QuickBooks to compare your data and ensure that your accounts are balanced and accurate.

On the other hand, for the import to show that the transactions are pending and not posted charges in your QuickBooks account, you'll need to manually change their status to Uncleared (leave blank under the Check column) in your account's register after categorizing them.

Additionally, I encourage you to reconcile your accounts regularly (monthly). Doing so will let you track your finances and manage them accordingly.
