Checking won't reconcile

I have triple checked the start date, end date, and all transactions - QBO vs. statement. The # of transactions match for both debits and credits. The dollar amount matches for the credits, but not the debits. I cannot see where I'm off. I have run through the statement vs QBO three times and can't find it.

Hello, Terry1203. Thank you for dropping by the Community with your question. I'm glad to provide some insights and help you out on how to correct all your transactions.

It appears that you have thoroughly reviewed your transactions. If everything matches except for the debit amounts, there are a few areas you can double-check.

Consider looking for potential duplicate transactions or incorrect transactions. Sometimes transactions are placed under the wrong category, leading to discrepancies.

Another helpful approach is to narrow down the review period and analyze smaller segments of the transactions. This can help you identify any errors that might be hidden within larger data sets.

To ensure that all filters are appropriately applied during the review process. You can follow these steps:

    1. Review the opening and beginning balance.
    2. Check the ending balance you entered.
    3. Combine multiple transactions into a single transactions.
    4. Eliminate transactions you know are correct.
    5. Enter transactions that aren't in QuickBooks.
    6. Remove transactions that aren't on your bank statement.
    7. Review transactions that are slightly off.

However, If you can't find errors in QuickBooks Online, there can be an error with the bank or credit card company. To verify if it's from your bank or credit card, you can check this out: Fix mistakes on your bank or credit card statement.

Additionally, if you're unable to identify the discrepancy after there steps, it may be beneficial to reach out to your accountant so they can help you find the cause of discrepancy.
