Cleared transactions in QBO

My client has a lot of duplicate transactions because they manually entered ones that were downloaded by the bank.  So now I need to delete the duplicates and in some cases the downloaded ones  of have a "cleared" status.  The manual ones have a "reconciled" status.  Can I just delete the cleared ones?

Deleting cleared transactions in QuickBooks Online is a simple procedure. You just need to visit your register to remove the duplicates. Here are the detailed steps to follow:

 

  1. In your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account, go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Chart of accounts.
  3. Locate the bank where the duplicate transactions are added. Then, click on View register.
  4. Find the duplicate transactions with Cleared (C) status. For quick navigation, you can click the Funnel icon, then select the period where the duplicate transactions exist in the From and To dates section. Then, select Cleared from the Reconcile Status drop-down list.
  5. Click Delete, and select Yes when prompted.

 

Please know that duplicate entries are returned to "For Review" after deletion. You can exclude them to remove completely from your records.
