Connecting Fifth Third Bank is possible since this is supported in QuickBooks, @Bush 11.

I appreciate your efforts in connecting the Fifth Third Bank. I'm here to provide additional information and steps you can take to deal with this issue. Thus, you can categorize the transaction as soon as possible.

Before digging in, can I ask the following question below:

  • Did you receive any error messages like 103?
  • Have you checked your financial institution's website to see if there are any notifications or messages that require your attention?
  • Are you done doing browser troubleshooting steps like opening incognito, clearing cache/cookies, and using another supported browser?

If you received error 103, our engineers are already aware of the situation and are working to find a permanent solution. I'd recommend calling our Customer Service to add you to the list of affected users. You'll then receive an email once fixed.

Go as follows:

  1. Go to the Help menu, then click Contact Us.
  2. Type your concern in the box and tap Let's talk.
  3. Choose either Get a call or Start a chat.
  4. Complete the required data and submit the request.

Make sure to contact them within business hours to ensure a swift response.

I'd advise utilizing incognito if you haven't attempted the basic troubleshooting and there isn't a problem with your financial institution's website. After then, reconnect to the bank to see if the problem is still with your browser.

Use the hotkeys below:

  • Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome)
  • Ctrl + Shift + P (Firefox)
  •  Control + Option + P (Safari)
  •  Ctrl + Shift + P (Microsoft Edge)

If it fixes the issue, please return to your regular browser and press the CTRL+ Shift and Delete keys on the keyboard to clear the cache.

If the problem persists, I'd advise importing the bank transactions manually as a workaround. This way, you can categorize and reconcile the account regularly.

Follow the steps below:

  1. Sign in to your bank website and follow the instructions to download your transactions as a comma-separated value (CSV) file.
  2. Go to the Banking tab on the left side.
  3. Click the Link account drop-down and choose Upload from file.
  4. Tap Browse and pick the data.
  5. Review all the fields, then tap Next.
  6. Click Let's go to complete the process.

I appreciate your update and for performing some troubleshooting steps to help resolve your banking concern, @Bush.

Let's sign in to Fifth Third Bank's website to check for messages and updates that require action so you can resolve the error you've encountered when connecting your bank to QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Error 108 means there's a notification (for example, new terms of service, announcements about maintenance, or new offers) on the Fifth Third Bank website that needs your attention. These messages, especially the ones about updates, can block the connection to QuickBooks. To fix this, let's review them on your bank's website and take the actions needed. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your bank or credit card's website. These should be the same credentials you use to connect the account to QuickBooks. If you use something different, disconnect the account from QuickBooks and use the credentials for your bank's website to reconnect it.
  2. Check for any updates, messages, or notifications.
  3. If you need to take any action, the message should give you specific steps.

When you're done, go ahead and connect your bank account or update your connections in QBO. You can read this article for the complete guide: Fix bank error 108.

Once everything is all set, QuickBooks downloads your most recent transactions. All you have to do is review and/or match them to the existing entries to keep your financial data accurate. For the detailed steps, you can refer to this article: Categorize online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Also, I encourage you to reconcile your accounts every month. This helps you manage your income and expense transactions and detect any possible errors accordingly. For the step-by-step guide, you may want to check out this article as your reference: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

Please let me know if you have other banking concerns or questions about managing transactions in QBO. I'll gladly help. Take care, and have a great day, @Bush.

@Bush 11

Utilize the trial version of MT Online to isolate the issue. It is designed to import into any bank or credit card in QuickBooks Online, so there is no specific setting needed. If the same error persists, there is an ongoing problem at your bank or connection.
