Credit card charges showing as credits

I linked my credit card to QuickBooks Online and the charges and showing up as credits. Basically, money is showing up in the "Received" column rather than the "spent" column. Is there a way to fix this?

Welcome to the Community, @LandmarkHomesAZ,

I'd be glad to help you sort out this reversed error on your credit card transactions to get you back to business.

To start with, may I know the name of your bank? This way, I can check if there's an ongoing investigation regarding your concern.

Bank transactions might be automatically added, which results in a money-in posting rather than a spent. However, we can exclude, delete and re-import them.

Follow these steps on how to exclude transactions:

1. On the left panel, click the Banking menu.
2. On the Banking page, click the For Review tab.
3. Locate and tick the boxes of the imported transactions.
4. Then select Exclude button.

Once excluded, you can then go to the Excluded tab to view the transactions. From there, you can delete them:

1. From the Excluded section, tick the boxes of the excluded transactions you want to delete.
2. And then click the Delete button.

Then, you can re-import the transactions. When importing, ensure that the file format is correct.

Here are some formatting restrictions for CSV files: (Note: Special characters are not allowed.)

  • Characters such as #, %, and & anywhere in the file.
  • Using brackets ( ) for negative amounts: (234) should be -234.
  • Currency symbols: $234 should be 234.
  • Commas to separate thousands (2, 111 should be 2111).

I'll also add an article you can refer to if you want to learn how to review downloaded bank and credit card transactions and put them in the correct accounts: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

If you require further assistance with your bank transactions, feel free to leave a reply. I'm here to help anytime. Have a good one!
