Six days ago a client paid an invoice by credit card. Client bank shows the payment went through. I have not received a notification from Intuit that the payment was made and the payment has not been deposited in my account. Any suggestions?

Hello, mahlerco.

I understand how important it is for your company to receive payments and deposits from customers on time. I'll share some details about when QuickBooks Payment will deposit customer payments.

When a payment is made, there is a lead time between when the payment posts and when it reaches the bank. Intuit batches and submits payments daily at 3:00 PM Pacific Standard Time or 6:00 PM Eastern Time.

Normally, funds reach the deposit bank account within 2-5 business days. However, this may differ depending on the following scenarios:

  • The time when you enter these transactions.
  • Your financial institution to deposit the funds.
  • Bank policies for verifying and processing electronic deposits.

Credit card payments should be transferred to your bank within 5-7 banking days, while ACH deposits may take 7-10 business days. If there is a problem with the payment, Intuit should send you an email with instructions on how to resolve it.

Let's look at the status of the process payment to figure out what's causing this delay. I'll show you how.

For QuickBooks Online:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online.
  2. Go to the Sales menu and select Deposits.
  3. Click the bank deposit you want to review.

Here's how in the Merchant Center:

  1. Sign in to the Merchant Service Center.
  2. From the homepage, select Activities & Reports and then Deposits.
  3. Set the date range in the Dates field.
  4. Click Search.

If you're unable to see the status or trace the payment, I recommend getting in touch with our QuickBooks Payments Support. They have the resources to open your account and conduct additional research.
