Deposit deleted after reconciliation

I deleted a deposit in my checking account after reconciling last month. Now when I try to reconcile the most current month (checking account), I get an error indicating that the beginning balance is not correct. How do I fix this?

An added complication -- the deposit was a transfer from my Paypal Bank to my checking account. I can see the transfer in the list of categorized transactions.

So it is in the PayPal Bank Feed's Categorizations.  Is it there as a Match or as an item that needs to be ADDED to the PayPal Bank Register?

When you Deleted the transaction from Checking you should have also Deleted it from the PayPal Register.  But if you then did a Bank Feed it is showing up because PayPal really has it as a Transaction.  If this is what you're seeing, then it's a very simple fix...

Go into the PayPal Bank Acct. Register and Enter the Transfer from PP to Checking.  Be sure to use the correct date for when you actually made the Transfer.

Your Bank Feed should now show this Transaction as a Match.  So go ahead and Accept the Transaction.

The Checking Account should now show the Transfer/Deposit again, but it will not show as Reconciled, which is fine.

Take LAST months Checking Statement and Reconcile again.  Put in LAST MONTHS Closing Date and the Amount that is shown on that Statement.  You should see one outstanding item which is the Transfer and the difference in the Balance should be the same amount.  Check off that on item, which should give you a $0 Balance again.  Then Accept/Close everything and you should be all set for next month.
