What does it mean if a deposit is missing and it shows on the bank statement but not down loaded by the bank feeds in QBO?

FYI - I just switched from QB Desktop to online last month, but this is the first time I'm in her to reconcile.  I'm not sure where everthing is yet.

I'm kind of thinking that the information wasn't in QBO yet, so it can't find it?  I have know idea where to start?

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community, DARM. I'll be sharing details on how data works after switching from QuickBooks Desktop to Online. Then, to ensure you're able to view the missing deposit so you can reconcile your account smoothly.

When switching from QuickBooks Desktop to the Online version, some information may not be transmitted when migrating your data. With this, you may notice differences in how your books appear and that may be the reason why the deposit is missing in QuickBooks Online. Also, this is because of the import limitations and feature variations between the two accounts.

Then, about the deposit that isn’t showing up in QBO, I recommend manually recording this entry. That way, you're able to match the transaction to your real-life bank deposit.

Here's how:

  1. Select + New.
  2. Under Other, select Bank deposit.
  3. From the Account dropdown arrow, choose the account you want to put the money into.
  4. Enter the deposit details and make sure that the amount matches your deposit slip in your bank.
  5. Click Save and close.

After that, go to the For review tab on the Banking page so you can see the option to match the deposit you've created in QBO to your actual bank statement. You may refer to this article to see the detailed steps on how to perform the process: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Once you're done matching your transaction, you can now view the deposit on the Reconciliation page. Then, be able to proceed with reconciling your account to avoid discrepancies: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

Let me know if you still have other questions about deposits or how importing details works after switching from two different accounts. I'll be here to answer them, DARM. Have a great day!
