Do I have to enroll in Quickbooks Payments Merchants Services in order to open a Quickbooks Cash Deposit Account?

Let me share with you the difference between Point of Sale (POS) and QuickBooks Payments. 

Yes, you'll need to enroll in QuickBooks Payments to use Cash Account. POS is for QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) while QB Payments is for QuickBooks Online (QBO). Also, POS transactions unable to sync in QBO since they are different platforms.

After you sign up for QB Payments, if you're approved, you get a QuickBooks Cash account and a debit card. Then, please connect your bank account to QB Cash. 

Here's how: 

1. Go to the Cash Flow menu, then select Transfer money in the QuickBooks Cash section. 
2. Pick Transfer in to start the connection, then follow the on-screen instructions. 
3. Enter your Account Type, Account Number, and Routing number in the fields. 
4. Click Sounds good. 

Once done, you'll receive two small deposits to the account within the next 3 days. After that, please verify the transactions by logging in to your QBO, then go to the Cash Flow menu, and select Verify bank.
