Question

Does anyone know how to match a "QuickBooks Payment Fees" to a sale transaction? I was charged $37.42 by quickbooks but I don't know how to match it to the sale. Thanks

I'm here to help you add your fees so you can match your sales receipts in QuickBooks Online (QBO), terry-leerb.

We can manually record the QuickBooks Payment fees in QBO by editing the sales transaction (either an invoice or sales receipt). Then, add another line item for the fees, and enter it in a negative amount. We can also create a deposit transaction and record the fees in a negative amount. Here's how:

  1. Click the Plus icon (+) at the top.
  2. Under Others, click Bank Deposits.
  3. Select the payment.
  4. In the Add funds to this deposit field, choose an account.
  5. Enter a negative amount, under Amount.
  6. Click Save and close.

To learn more about this one, see the Record and make bank deposits in QuickBooks Online article. With these steps, you'll be able to match your sales receipts in QuickBooks Online. Just in case you match the bank transactions and the amounts are different, just locate additional matched transactions or select Resolve Difference. This opens the Add resolving transactions fields wherein we can include the Category and Amount of a resolving transaction until the difference equals zero. We can also use the Add new transaction button to add multiple resolving transactions.

When you're ready to assess your business financials, you can reconcile your bank account in QBO. Feel free to visit our Banking page for more insights about managing your bank transactions.

I'd like to know how you get on after trying the steps, as I want to ensure this is resolved for you. Just reply to this post and I'll get back to you. You have a good one.
