Question

Does anyone know why a manual UIA payment shows up in the taxes history, but not as a transaction in the checking account history?

Tax payment history shows it was done manually 07/20/2022. That date is not under bank transactions.

Hello, Brandon.

I'll help you in locating your tax payment.

The payment transaction should normally appear in your bank register, but it doesn't. It may have been posted to a different bank account or cleared before or after 07/20/2022. Check your bank statement to see if the tax payment was posted. If yes, you can download the entry by performing a manual update to your bank account linked to QuickBooks Online.

Here's how:

  1. In the left menu, click Banking or Transactions.
  2. Go to the Banking tab.
  3. Click the Update button on the right-hand side of the screen.

Let's also set your bank register to All because it could be cleared before or after the date specified on the Tax payment history screen. I'll show you how.

  1. Select Accounting from the sidebar menu.
  2. Go to Chart of Accounts.
  3. Locate the bank account holding the transaction.
  4. Click the View register link from the Action column.
  5. Select the Funnel icon, then set the filters to All.
  6. Hit Apply, then find the tax payment.

Look at this article to learn more about the procedure: What to do if you get a bank error or can't download transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Furthermore, you can perform your regular bank reconciliation to ensure that QuickBooks balances match the balances on your bank and credit card statements.

If you need anything else, please let me know. I'll be around to help you.
