Question

Does anyone know why all of my transactions appear as deposits, even the debits?

Everything transferred from the bank is in the deposit column and not in the spent column when appropriate.

Hi there, frank-dadds-com.

Thank you for posting here in QuickBooks Community. I'll be sharing information on how the entries work in QuickBooks Online. Then, alternative options to ensure that downloaded entries are accurate.

The downloaded data in QuickBooks depends on the information shared by the financial institution. With this, I suggest contacting your bank to get more details and to see why all of your transactions appear as deposits/received and not in the spent column or why your bank feed transactions show incorrectly in the QuickBooks system.

If the issue continues to occur on the next sync entries, I recommend clicking the manual Update button on the Banking page. It refreshes the connections between the bank's website and QuickBooks.

Here's how:

  1. On the left pane, click Banking.
  2. Go to the Banking tab.
  3. Click to highlight the account you're updating.
  4. Click the Update button. Please run the update around 3-5 times to build a stable connection.

If the problem persists, you can exclude a bank transaction you downloaded into QuickBooks Online in the meantime and have it manually recorded.

Once everything is good, you can categorize your transactions by matching and adding them to avoid duplicate entries and reconcile your accounts so your account stays accurate.

Don't hesitate to post again if you have additional queries about banking issues in QuickBooks Online. I'm always here to help.
