Does quickbooks have to be open for web connector to function?

We have a separate forum that handles programming concerns, such as syncing apps with QuickBooks. So, I suggest visiting our Intuit Developer page. They can discuss and share details about how you can work with Spire for admin tasks without keeping the program open.

 

Here's how:

  1. Go to this link: https://help.developer.intuit.com/s/.
  2. Click the Help button on the upper right side. 
  3. Choose General Questions. 
  4. Hit Ask Question.

Hi there, @JimY,

 

May I know if you're referring to importing bank transactions into QuickBooks Self-Employed using spreadsheets? If so, you can do this by importing the WebConnect files from your bank. Here's how:

 

  1. Tap the Gear icon then select Imports.
  2. From connected bank list, click on Import older transactions or use the import transactions link at the bottom.
  3. Find the bank file and select Browse.

No, the software uses Quickbooks web connector to sync certain data from the local quickbooks file to a third party site called "Spire".

 

The issue I'm seeing is that you have to keep Quickbooks open always for the web connector to work, which is a problem for when admin level things need to be done which require switching to single user.
