Downloading bank transactions

I downloaded my initial bank transactions, which was limited to 90 days of transactions.  How do I download the rest of the year?

Let me help with your banking transactions, drwillf1. 

 

You can check with your bank to see if they can give you a CSV file of your banking transactions. Then, import them to QuickBooks Online. Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Banking menu and select Banking. 
  2. Select the bank or credit card account. 
  3. Click the drop-down arrow beside Update and select File upload.
  4. Click Browse, then look for the file and click on it.
  5. Click Open. 
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to upload the file. 

You can also use Quicken (QFX), QuickBooks Online (QBO), or Microsoft Money (OFX) files in case your bank doesn't support CSV files. Check out these guide articles for more details:

    its not downloading the transactions as there is a display saying that there are no new transactions and try again tomorrow

    When transactions don't automatically download, there may be issues with the connection of your bank into QuickBooks Online.

     

    We can fix this by manually updating the bank account between two to three times. It'll refresh the connection and can resolve bank problems. I'm here to guide on how to do this.

    1. Go to the Banking menu on the left pane.
    2. Hit the pencil icon beside the account name.
    3. Click Edit sign-in info.
    4. Enter your bank login credentials.
    5. Click Update.

    My bank only downloads files as a .pdf but my Quickbooks (Mac version) doesn't recognize .pdf to set up my digital banking. What do I do?

    Hi @CcpaTmmaMmf,

     

    I'm here to lend a hand in setting up your online bank connection.

     

    Before you proceed though, we recommend you contact your bank to confirm what type of connections are available for them, if there would be charges in using the service, and what information you need to set up and use the feature.

     

    There are 2 types of connections available, and these are direct connect and web connect. You'll find the setup steps for both in this article: Set up and use Online Banking (Mac).

     

    For the web connect option, since you mentioned that you can only download a PDF file from your bank, you'll need a 3rd party app that can convert this to a .QBO file.
