NEW QBO user.  I may need to edit some of my deposits to put them in the correct project.  How do I do that without Undoing the entire transaction?

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community, mauryp48.

I've got steps to ensure that you can edit some of your deposits to place them in the correct project without undoing the entire transaction in QuickBooks.

I recommend manually opening each deposit connected to a specific project and assigning it to the correct project by going to the Received From column.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Projects menu on the left panel.
  2. Locate the specific project name.
  3. Choose the Transactions section.
  4. Select the particular deposit and click the View/Edit link.
  5. Go to the Received From column. Then, update the name of the person and make sure to choose the right project to which the entry is allocated.

In case you need guidelines on how you can make sure what you’re seeing in your Project's data is accurate., you can read this article: Create and manage projects in QuickBooks Online.
