Electronic signature on checks

I've scanned my signature into the quickbooks file and when I go to add it in the printer setup the signature is to small to see. When you look at the saved file it meets the requirements for size but when the file is added you can barely see it. The actual signature is 3" x 3/4" but the image when adding it to the checks is maybe1-1/2 x 1/8". Does anyone know how to fix this. Thank you in advance.

Hi there, @lad474.

Thanks for visiting the Community. I appreciate the screenshot you've shared. I'm with you in getting this fix to ensure the signature image fits into the signature field.

First off, let's verify that the image has an aspect ratio of 11:3 (11 widths and 3 height) to fit into a 3/4 inch wide by 3/4 inch tall area with no space around it.

You can look for the option in your scanner's settings to change the aspect ratio to 2.75 x .75 or select only the part of the page to scan. It should come up as a little box that you can move and resize the signature block.

Once done, save the image in an accepted file format, such as JPEG, PNG, BMP, or TIFF to an easily accessible folder. Following the proper aspect ratio will place your signature above its line.

Thank you so much, I used the crop to get the size correct and then edited it to be darker. The signature is about a 1/2" above the line, is there a way to move it down?

Let's reset your printer settings, lad474.

I've got the steps on how to do it:

  1. From the Start button, select Settings.
  2. Right-click on a working printer.
  3. Select Set as Default printer.

Afterward, let's go back to your QuickBooks file, and let's try adding a signature on the Check again.

If the same thing persists, I'd recommend reaching out to our Technical Support team. An agent will do a screen share with you and fix this issue further.
