Entering data from old PDF statements

Good Morning;

My bank, Chase, only maintains access to my data in QBO format for two years but I need to enter older data that is only available in .PDF format.

The best I can figure out is to cut and paste from the .PDF into excel, go though and clean up the data by separating a single column into multiple columns then recombining it on a row by row basis.  Once that is done I would the purchase third party software to convert the .XLS file to a .QBO file and finally import it into Quickbooks for categorization and reconciliation.

I have two questions:

1. Is there a better workflow for this?

2. Is there anyone that does this for clients?

Thanks,

Matt
