Fixing my beginning balance in quick books desktop

My October beginning balance of my check register does not match my bank statement.  In July I reconciled  a a transaction only to delete this transaction in November 2022 in error.  My quickbooks beginning balance is off by the amount of the July reconciled  transaction.  I reentered the deleted transaction and manually reconciled it on the check register.  My quickbook balance and my bank balance are still not matching?

Please advise

I'm not exactly sure how a deleted item in November affected the July Reconciliation, but there are a few ways to fix it.

First, I'd suggest just Unreconcile back to July and start over making sure everything is in order each month.  If you've never Unreconciled, go to Banking Reconcile just like you normally would.  Then down at the bottom of the box (next to Continue) is Undo Last Reconciliation.  Just repeat clicking on the Undo button and accept the process until you've done it enough times to go back to July.  So if you've already reconciled through November, you would click & accept 5 times.  Going backwards that would be for Nov, Oct, Sep, Aug, Jul.

You will not see any change in the Dates as you do this, but close the Reconcile box and then reopen Reconcile box and you'll see the Date for what QBs is ready to Reconcile. It should show July as the next month to reconcile.

There are some other tricks that you may find posted.  But using the Undo and then Reconciling again is the best way to make sure all the Transactions are entered correctly.
