I'll share the steps to fix it, tclose92.

QuickBooks occasionally download duplicate transactions due to crossed wires since each bank or credit card connects differently. Let's check your credit card statement first by logging in to your financial institution's website and getting the statement for the period in which you noticed the duplicate.

If you see the transaction posted twice, your data was successfully downloaded. If you saw it once, you can perform the troubleshooting procedure to resolve it.

To begin, ensure that the credit card account is only connected once. If it's linked twice, just hide one of the accounts to stop it from downloading again.

Here's how:

  1. Select the profile ⚙ icon.
  2. Click the Manage Account or Bank Accounts.
  3. Make sure your bank or credit card account is connected once.
  4. If there's a duplicate, hit the radio button to toggle it OFF in the Show account column.

After that, you can exclude the redundant transaction to make sure that your books remain accurate.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Transactions menu.
  2. Find the transaction you want to exclude and select it to expand the view.
  3. Select the Exclude this transaction checkbox.
  4. Hit Save.
