Foreign transaction in paypal broke the link to QBO

I've been trying to figure out why all of my Paypal transactions between a certain period of time in 2024 aren't showing up anywhere within QBO.  My home currency is USD and I'm on the Basic plan if that matters.

 

What I've found is that the linking turned off when I received a payment in GBP and then it turned back on after I received a payment in DKK about 5 months later.  All transactions prior to and after these are transferring correctly.  They are not in the uncategorized account or anywhere else that I can see.

If you use the Connect to PayPal app, please know that it doesn't support multi-currency transactions and reconciliation. This feature is only available in QBO Essentials, Plus, and Advanced. If you are using the basic plan or Simple Start and need this, consider upgrading your plan or manually entering the transactions in your account to maintain accurate records.

 

On the other hand, if you have connected PayPal through bank feeds and activated multicurrency, I recommend contacting PayPal to review the integration settings to determine if there's any option that prevents them from accepting GBP. They have access to specialized tools that can help identify and resolve any errors.

 

Once they confirm that there are no issues on their end with accepting GBP, I suggest contacting our Live Support team to further check into why the transactions are not downloading. They will work closely with you to check your account and ensure everything is configured correctly.

  1. Navigate to the Help menu.
  2. Click the Search option and type "contact support."
  3. Choose the Contact Us tab at the bottom.
  4. Enter the question, keyword, or topic you require assistance with.

Alternatively, you can manually upload the missing transactions to record them to your account.

I figured out my QBO basic plan doesn't allow multi-currency.  Upgraded and took care of what I needed for taxes.

 

There still seems to be a bug that shut off transactions coming in from Paypal between the two international payments.
