Question

Had to import credit card transactions. Credits are debits and debits are credits. Should I just delete and do it manually?

Hello there, denisemunguia2.

Yes, you'll need to delete and re-upload your transactions so they are correctly reflected in your QuickBooks Online account. I'm here to help you through the process.

When manually uploading transactions to QuickBooks, it's important to consider how your bank has generated the CSV file. Typically, credit card payments show positive numbers while charges are negative. To avoid any errors, I recommend reviewing the transactions as you import them.

If you've noticed that the transactions are not appearing correctly, you'll need to exclude and delete them. Here are the steps to follow:

  1. On the left navigation panel, go to Transactions.
  2. Click the tile associated with your credit card.
  3. On the For review tab, select the transactions to be deleted.
  4. Click Exclude.
  5. On the Excluded tab, select the transactions. Then, press Delete.

After deleting the transactions, import them again, but this time make sure you've selected the option to reverse the values.

By following these steps, your transactions should now be correctly reflected in QuickBooks.
