Question

Has anyone else had the problem that you have to exit and reopen QB after editing an entry, before it lets you edit another? I don't understand why it started doing this.

Hi there, @info515. Let me share some troubleshooting to isolate what's causing the issue you've been having. It's our priority to ensure you can utilize QuickBooks Online tools seamlessly.

You may have too much accumulated historical data. Whenever you visit a website, it saves some information from the web page in its cache and cookies. These files allow the websites you visit most often to load faster. Not to worry, clearing them will do the trick.

First, let's try accessing your account through an incognito window to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue. You can refer to these shortcut keys to open an incognito window in all supported browsers:

  • Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N
  • Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+P
  • Safari: Command+Shift+N

If it allows you to edit an entry without having to exit and reopen QuickBooks, I recommend clearing your browser's cache. This way, you can access QuickBooks with a clean slate. You can also use a different supported one.

Additionally, you can check out this guide on how to increase your QBO experience: Why is my QBO slow?.

Feel free to post here if you have any other concerns. I'd be happy to assist!
