Question

Has anyone had issues with Ameriprise linking with QuickBooks? It keeps saying that Ameriprise is linked with another QuickBooks… but I only have 1 account.

Hi KUDU2,

I'm here to enlighten you about the error message you received.

The system will prompt you that the account is already linked when both the parent and the sub-account are connected. If so, you'll have to ensure that only one bank account is connected. It can be the parent account or the sub-account.

If you didn't connect either of the accounts, we can perform some troubleshooting steps to fix this matter. To begin with, let's log into your account through an incognito window to isolate the possibility of a browser-related issue. You can use these keyboard keys to open one:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Microsoft Edge & Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Control + Option P

If you're able to connect the account, you may continue from there or you can go back to a regular browser and clear its cache. Piled cache can also be the reason for some unexpected issues on the opened pages.

You can also switch to a different browser like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari.

Furthermore, you can visit these references on how you can manage the downloaded transactions of the connected bank account:

You can always post in the forum whenever you have concerns about connecting bank accounts and classifying transactions.
