I know some information on how to view your W-2s status, nashp209.

If you turn on the Automated Taxes and Forms, you don't have to do a thing since QuickBooks will file the W-2s for you. They will also send the copies to your employees if they opt for a paper copy. You'll receive an email notification once the filing process is complete. To check, here's how:

  1. Go to the Taxes located at the left navigation panel and then click the Payroll tax option.
  2. Press the Filings option.
  3. Scroll down until you'll see the Done section.

In addition, you can also select the Archived Forms option to see the status of your forms. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Taxes menu.
  2. Click Payroll Tax
  3. Under the Filings tab, press the Archive forms option located beside Resources

These are the following statuses that you may see as you click the Archive forms:

  • Not Transmitted: You did your part, but we haven't sent it to the IRS, state, or local tax agency yet.
  • Transmitted: We sent the form to the agency. But the agency hasn't processed it yet. The IRS generally processes forms within a few weeks. State agencies can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.
  • Accepted: The agency has received and accepted the form.
  • Rejected: The receiving agency has received and rejected the form. Review the rejection letter emailed to you for the specific reason.

I'll leave these articles for you to visit as you check the status of your form:

Furthermore, you may want to print your W-2  for your records.
