Have you had problems with bank deposit matching?

Problems with bank deposits matching: some transactions match just fine and others, that are exactly the same type of transaction, return inaccurate matching results and not the sales receipt that it should match to, despite that the sale receipt is open and out there? Some match results return all open sales receipts in the result set and others (same criteria) returns a small subset--no reason why. Contacted QB support multiple times, they scratch their heads, and ask me to jump through hoops and show them the problem and then close the case without ever getting back to me.

You can check the details on the sales receipts you're trying to match with the bank transactions to see if there are any discrepancies, Anita. Here are some insights to assist you with this matter.

 

QuickBooks will search for existing transactions that match bank deposits based on similar dates, amounts, and bank accounts. To better understand why you're having trouble recognizing the appropriate matches, you can refer to this article: Confirm suggested matches for bank transactions in QuickBooks.

 

If you've already verified that the information in your sales receipts matches your bank deposits, ensure that you set the correct filter in the Find other matches screen. Here's how to do it:

 

  1. Go to the Transactions, then select Bank transactions.
  2. In the For review tab, locate the deposit and select Find other matches.
  3. In the Find other matches screen, adjust the date range filter as needed.

 

If the receipts are not appearing, they may have already been matched to a different transaction. To check this, review your bank registers. A letter C will be displayed next to the transaction, indicating that it's already matched elsewhere. Simply click on the C until it's gone to uncategorize it.

 

When you find that the receipts did not match another transaction, I recommend contacting our Live Support team again for immediate assistance. Please ensure to check our support availability hours before reaching out. Alternatively, you can exclude the deposit and manually clear the sales receipt from the bank register.
